Manuel (Tito) was born in Texas, yet was raised in a Puerto Rican home. He spent most of his early years overseas because of his father's Air Force career. He has lived in Puerto Rico, Germany, Japan, USA- to name a few places. It was during his time in Maryland, while in college, that he came to have a personal trust in Christ. He worked as a social worker in Baltimore City for several years prior to attending Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS, where he graduated with a M.Div. in Missions.
Kim grew up in the Boston area and came to faith at age eight in her Sunday school class. She is a certified teacher with a passion for history and geography. Manuel met his wife Kimberly at a regional Inter-Varsity conference in the Baltimore area.
Together they have served as missionaries in South Africa, Spain (nearly 13 years) and now on the US/Mexico border. The Padillas are serving as church planters with MTW/BEAMM in El Paso, TX planting Las Tierras Community Church on the far east side of El Paso. LTCC is amulticultural bilingual church whose purpose is to see the grace of the gospel transform individuals, the community and the twin cities of El Paso/Ciudad Juárez.
