Manuel (Tito) was born in Texas, yet was raised in a Puerto Rican
home. He spent most of his early years overseas because of his father's
Air Force career. He has lived in Puerto Rico, Germany, Japan, USA-
to name a few places. It was during his time in Maryland, while
in college, that he came to have a personal trust in Christ. He
worked as a social worker in Baltimore City for several years prior
to attending Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS, where
he graduated with a M.Div. in Missions. Prior to leaving for Spain,
Tito served as a pastoral intern at Columbia Presbyterian Church
(OPC). He and his wife (Kimberly) became members of Chapelgate Presbyterian
Church (PCA) in July, 1991. Tito was ordained as a minister/missionary
in June, 1992 in the Presbyterian Church in America.
Manuel met his wife Kimberly at a regional Inter-Varsity conference
in Baltimore. In the summer of 1984 they served on the same mission
team in Johannesburg, South Africa. Not only did this trip bring
them together in friendship, but it further developed their desire
to serve Christ in other cultures. In September, 1985 the Lord brought
them together in marriage.
While at seminary they sensed the Lord leading them to minister
in Spain. Wanting to confirm that calling they spent a summer in
Miami, FL. They found the work with a Spanish congregation in "Little
Havana" to be a blessing. In February, 1991 they were approved
by Mission to the World (PCA) and appointed to serve on the church
planting team in Madrid, Spain. After nearly thirteen years in Spain
(1993-2005), where the Padillas served as church planters, they
have accepted a call to work with BEAMM as church planters in El
Paso, TX.
They are now planting Las Tierras Community Church on the East
side of El Paso.
Kim and Tito have three children: Joshua, Rebecca and Elizabeth.
