Tim grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After high school and one year of college, he enlisted in the US Navy in 1985. He was selected to the Enlisted Commissioning Program and was stationed at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque to study Computer Engineering in 1987. Kristy grew up in Albuquerque, and was a Political Science/Public Policy student at UNM when they met on a blind date. Both came to the Lord and began to follow Christ as college students. They married in 1990 and over the next 15 years moved many times as Tim served in the US Navy Submarine force. Tim and Kristy attended their first PCA church in Orlando, Florida in 1990, and have seen the full spectrum of PCA worship in their 10 moves across the US.
In 2002, the Navy moved the Holliday family to Omaha, Nebraska where Tim retired from active duty in 2005. Tim was ordained as a deacon at Harvest Community Church (PCA) in 2005. It was at Harvest that Tim and Kristy began to be involved in mercy ministries, Hispanic outreach, and English as a Second Language classes. Tim and Kristy have participated in several short-term trips to the border, to Juarez and to Laredo. After sensing God’s leading to missions, both committed to pray, and they began to pursue God’s call to service on the border in January of 2008.
The Holliday family looks forward to serving in the Eastern Region of the US/Mexico border, where Tim will work with the BEAMM Regional Director, Dan Young, to spread the Gospel through evangelism, church planting, and community development. Tim and Kristy are thankful that God continues His good work, and pray that their family will glorify Him in all that they do. The Hollidays have six children: Ashley (24), who is married to Tom Adams and lives in Wilmington, NC; Keilah (15), James (13), Susannah (12), Lydia (10) and Sarah (10).
