Juan Antonio arrived in Juárez from Tabasco, Mexico, in September, 1999, to work and because his sister and her husband were living and working in Juárez. In his hometown, he had had something like an encounter with Jesus, but in Juárez, his belief in Christ was confirmed. He had come from a Baptist church even though through his mother’s influence, the rest of the family were Presbyterian. In Juárez, he was asked to organize a Bible study or worship service in their rented house, but it was very difficult doctrinally because there were Baptists, Seventh Day Adventists, Catholics, and Presbyterians. This proved to be a disaster, but God sent him Raciel Gomez who directed him to the Tierra Prometida Church. There, he began to work with the youth forming the first Youth Group of the church. It was at Tierra Prometida that he met Brenda, who would later become his wife.
Juan Antonio entered San Pablo Seminary in 2001 and graduated in November, 2005. He was licensed by the Chihuahua Presbytery in October, 2006 and ordained as Pastor of Promesa de Vida Church in 2007. The Church celebrated its second anniversary as a particular church on July 19, 2009.
