About Us ...

Charles grew up in Asheville, NC in a Christian home and attended church regularly, but it wasn’t until his freshman year in college that he received the gift of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. It was during his years at Clemson University that he began to grow in his understanding of what a saving relationship with Christ meant through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. The influence of student leaders there helped him to grow in his love for Christ and a desire to serve him. Following graduation from Clemson, Charles worked for three years in a wholesale greenhouse operation and was active in his local church. It was during this time that God called him to missionary service and the gospel ministry. He graduated from Columbia Biblical Seminary in Columbia, SC in 1985 with an M.Div.

Bonita grew up in Christian home in LaGrange, GA. As the youngest of 5 children she had many role models among her siblings: from athletic, to smart, to pretty, and personality. As a result she decided early on that she was going to make her mark in life by becoming a successful dentist. During her student years at the Univ. of Georgia she went far from the Lord; but it was while waiting to hear if she had been accepted into Dental School during her senior year that God worked powerfully in her life. After sending off her application for admission into the Medical College of Georgia, she did not hear back from them. She grew worried and began to realize that maybe her dream was not going to be realized. God used this time of uncertainty to remind her that she did not measure up to her own standards, much less His standards. She understood in a new light that this was the reason that Christ came and died on the cross. She trusted in Him alone for her salvation and life and committed herself to Him as Lord. God did open the door for her to attend the Medical College of Georgia and she graduated with her DMD in dentistry in 1983. More importantly, it was during this time that she grew as a believer in Christ through the ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Augusta. She not only learned and understood the doctrines of grace but was presented with the great commission of Christ to take the gospel to the entire world.

Charles and Bonita met in Columbia, SC and were married at the Rose Hill Presbyterian Church on December 15, 1984. From there God lead Charles to a position at the Edgemont Presbyterian Church in Bristol, TN and he was ordained by Westminster Presbytery in 1986.

The Davidson served with MTW in Lima, Peru as church planters from 1993-2008. As a part of the church planting team they helped to start two new churches, served as team treasures and Charles was the team leader from 2000-2005. During these years of ministry they have grown to understand that all of life is lived in the unmerited favor of God in Jesus Christ and that our highest calling is to do all for the glory of God. In early 2008 the Charles and Bonita believed that God was leading them away from Peru and in seeking guidance from others were directed to BEAMM. In early 2008 they received a call to join the BEAMM ministry in Juarez, Mexico and so they have relocated to El Paso, Texas where they are currently living.
Charles’ job on the BEAMM team will be as a Border Training Coordinator to help train and mentor men in Mexico and the USA to pastor and plant new plant new churches. He envisions that his efforts will be divided into three areas:
• Teach part time at the San Pablo Seminary in Juarez, Mexico
• Develop relationships with the existing churches associated with BEAMM in Juarez and seek to help them grow spiritually and numerically so that they can start new churches in the city of Juarez and its surrounding areas.
• Develop mentoring relationships with men who are now serving the local church as elders, pastors and/or church planters in order to help them grow in their obedience to Jesus Christ and ministry skills.

Charles and Bonita have three daughters: Elise -11/08/1988; Anna - 02/03/1990 and Ila - 06/22/1991.
